The Option of Bankruptcy and Bankruptcy Help

Article by Lawrence Sykes

The changes in UK legislature have made the option of declaring bankruptcy more lucrative to the people. The bankrupt person is discharged from the bankruptcy status in a very short span of time. Automatically, a person is discharged from the bankruptcy status after a year, though most of the applicants remove the bankruptcy status within six to nine months.

Bankruptcy is the last option for a person weighed down by debts that he or she cannot pay back. This is mainly applicable to a person who doesn’t have any regular income to pay back his or her debts. There are also other options available, to tackle the financial crisis due to debt. IVA is one such option. This option allows the applicant to retain his or her assets and make reduced, affordable repayment to the creditors for a specified period. After the living cost of the applicant is evaluated by the government, it arranges the rest of the income to be distributed to the creditors. The time period of IVA is generally five years. After this period, the remaining debt is written off and this is legally binding. However, a person without a minimum regular income is not suited to apply for IVA.

The other popular option besides bankruptcy is the DMP or Debt Management Plan. A DMP for a person is set up by private financial consulting Organizations. It is an informal way of settling the debts. This set up allows the applicant to make reduced payment. The payment is fixed keeping on mind what the person can afford. This system lasts until the debit is cleared or the income of the concerned person rises. DMP is not legally binding and the success of it depends on the acumen of the financial consulting Organizations. DMP is also not a viable option if the applicant doesn’t have any regular income.

A sound debts advice is prescribed prior to declaring bankruptcy. A financial consultant is the best judge to provide tailor made solution to a person’s financial problem. If bankruptcy is most suited to a person’s need then the consultant can provide proper bankruptcy help. Trying to charter the waters of attaining bankruptcy without required guidance and help jeopardize the financial recovery and obtaining the bankruptcy itself.

ESPN Sports Magazine

Everybody knows about ESPN as the cable TV channel for sports-related programs. Its publication counterpart is called ESPN The Magazine, which is a bi-weekly sports magazine published by the ESPN sports network. While ESPN the channel was first launched in 1979, the magazine’s first issue was published in March of 1998.

The magazine covers the main and most popular sports in the United States. They include Major League Baseball, the NBA, NHL, NFL, college football and college basketball. What makes the magazine attractive than other sports magazine is that it usually takes a light-hearted, sometimes even humorous approach to sports news, as compared to other sports magazine like Sporting News or Sports Illustrated. If you have read a few magazine copies, you will notice that the issues usually cover players with careers that suffered due to incidents and accidents off the field.

Among the sections or departments of each issue of the magazine include:

The Sports Guy.

This is the first section in the magazine, written by Bill Simmons, who tries to provide an alternative point of view on a particular sporting issue.

Two Way. As suggestive of its name, in this section, questions from readers are entertained by Stuart Scott, who gives his own opinions in response to the question.

The Biz. This part tackles a more serious topic. In this section, Peter Keating presents the business aspect of sports. He also discusses the effect of this business aspect on the sporting world.

The Post. This section refers back to the previous edition of the magazine, and presents some reader’s comments as well as updates regarding previously featured stories.

Zoom. This is a poster-type, large image considered to be the “image of the week.” It occupies two whole pages.

The Jump. This contains a mix of various regular features, which offers an alternative entertaining, often humorous view on the current topics in the sporting scene.

Outtakes. This contains transcripts of interviews done by Kenny Mayne with a popular sports star. The interview usually tackles non sports issues surrounding the sports star’s life.

The Life of Reilly. This is a section by columnist Rick Reilly who gives opinions regarding the sports world, and gives reports on various current topics of interest in the sporting world.

These are just some of the many things to look forward to in every issue of ESPN the Magazine. If you are a sports fanatic, every issue is surely worth looking forward to. You can enjoy great savings when getting an ESPN the Magazine subscription. For every issue, you will get a good percentage off the newsstand price. You can get even better discounts if you subscribe through an online magazine website.

How To Make Money With A Talent Agency

Talent agents work on behalf of the creative talent in the entertainment industry. Usually creative talent means actors, directors and writers, but can also include producers, costume designers, lighting cameramen, choreographers, composers. Basically anyone who has creative input in an entertainment project can have an agent to represent them. This is where you come in.

Starting up your own talent agency business means that you need to acquire talents to work for you. Or in other words talents who could make money for you. Being an agent means that you acquire percentage of what talents earn from a show or booking that you have arranged for them. You contact event organizers to market your talents and in the long run for your talents to e paid thus earning yourself the percentage agreed upon.

Primarily an agent’s task is to find work for their clients, and negotiate the fees, royalties and credit for the work. When the client is earning, they are earning, as they receive 10% of the client’s fee. Agents also provide moral support, send flowers on opening night, post signed photographs to fans, field inquiries from talk shows and charities, take crisis calls from film sets on the other side of the world, deny everything to journalists, fend off producers, arrange schedules, throw parties and recommend good lawyers.

In fact, one of the more shadowy roles of an agent is damage limitation (control). A negative story in the newspapers, a kiss-and-tell, or a drugs allegation – all of these unfortunate situations generally fall first to the agent, who must therefore have good contacts with lawyers, publicity agents and gossip columnists. But the role of the agent has expanded even further in recent years. Large agencies are now closely involved in packaging, script development and film financing. They will use their influence within the industry to help projects get financed and made. Often agents will assist in coming up with the initial ideas – say, for a new television series – and will sell the project directly to the channel controllers or commissioning editors.

This business is built around a very large and still growing industry o entertainment. Breaking it in half and making a run for their money might be easy or hard. It is all up to your dedication and hard work. Research and learn, establish contacts and relationships around the industry and you might be the next super agent.

Home Flooring: Are Natural Stone Carpets Good for Your Home?

Below are some of the reasons why natural stone carpets are the home flooring choice of more and more people today.

Home Flooring Made Easy To Clean

Due to their water tight structure, they are very low maintenance and easy to clean. We are all aware of the tedious vacuum cleaning and washing of carpets, polishing of wood floors and scrubbing stubborn staining off tiles. Unlike those, stone carpets can be quickly vacuumed and washed down with a moist cloth and typical spillages like coffee and wine will not leave lasting stains. There is no need of time-consuming polishing; they always look their best with no extra effort. Dust and dirt are vacuumed away effortlessly. Cleaning your stone carpet is therefore simple and effective. Natural stone carpet flooring is so practical that it can be used for any room of the home – in kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, halls and conservatories, saving you oodles of cleaning time and effort.

Home Flooring Durability & Safety

Using the finest quality natural stones, natural stone carpets are highly durable. They don’t chip, scratch or mark easily which makes them children & pet friendly. Their non-slip covering makes them the ideal choice of flooring for families with children and older adults.

Are Natural Stone Carpets too cold for home flooring?

Contrary to the common opinion, natural stone flooring is not a cold surface at all. In fact it is much warmer flooring alternative to conventional tiles and wood. Porous by design, natural stone carpets retain heat and provide a comfortable warm feel to the home. Epoxy resin, the adhesive used, takes on the ambient temperature so that your stone floor doesn’t feel as cold as wood or tiles. Actually, stone carpets have the same heat retention as a timber floor. Under floor heating is therefore unnecessary.

Multiple Decorative Options for Your Home Flooring

Natural stone carpets are made of high quality solvent-free epoxy resins and various types of gravel and quartz.  By mixing the types of gravel and/or quartz, and even laying these in a pleasing decorative pattern, a stone carpet can be created to match any taste and preferences and respond to the rest of your home look and feel. Seamless when laid, natural stone carpets fit neatly around the contours of your floor and can be laid over tiles and other coverings. Typically a selection of stones and colour variations are chosen to create an impressive finish, which blends in with your surrounding interiors. You have a vast choice of colour and stone combinations in order to achieve the perfect interior experience. Usually samples are provided before laying each floor to make sure the look is absolutely right!

Home Flooring Choice & Health Implications

There is always some mold and dust everywhere – in the air and on many surfaces. Mold grows where there is moisture and dust access pretty much everything surrounding our daily life.

Some people are sensitive to molds and/or dust. Sometimes molds or dust can cause nasal stuffiness, throat irritation, coughing or wheezing, eye irritation, or, in some cases, skin irritation. People who have developed allergies may have more severe reactions. These people should stay away from areas that are likely to retain mold and dust, such as compost piles, cut grass, wooded areas, books, carpets or any surface & surface that is likely to gather dust and mold in excessive amount.

Due to its composition, natural stone carpet is a very suitable solution for your home if you need to keep the dust and mold levels to a bare minimum. If there are children and adults with asthma and other debilitating dust allergies in your household you need to consider a dust/mold free agent as a home flooring solution.

Your Home Flooring Value & Price

Pricewise it may come as a surprise that a natural stone carpet usually comes cheaper comparing to many wood and tile finishes. Adding their long life span, durability and easy maintenance increase their value in money, care and time for redecorating.

A natural stone carpet has the advantages of a carpet – comfort and warmth: the advantages of wood – a natural look; and the advantages of tiles – it is easy to clean. A natural stone carpet is a perfect solution for people who find synthetic floor coverings too vulnerable and tiles too hard and cold.
