Is Payroll Outsourcing Expensive?

This first thing that comes to mind when a company is thinking of outsourcing their payroll is the cost. Many CFO may disagree with payroll outsourcing and one of main reasons is that payroll outsourcing is too expensive. However, I beg to differ and in fact one of the benefits of payroll outsourcing is to save cost. The market of payroll outsourcing is highly competitive and the pricing models vary according to the service levels and quality of service.

Payroll outsourcing is cheaper than hiring regular employees to manage payroll. This is especially true in developed countries where most businesses could not afford to hire regular employees. Payroll outsourcing helps to reduce the costs by hiring people located in countries that have lower economic status.

In addition, there is no cost incurred to re-train new employees when payroll is outsourced.

The market of payroll outsourcing is highly competitive and thus the market price of payroll services is pretty standard. The price may vary across different vendors, depending on the quality of services that the client is looking for. Depending on the experience of the vendor, some are able to price their services above the market price and the additional charges often includes the quality of service and the advanced technology and security of data management.

Payroll outsourcing is strategy that is adopted by many organizations in the past few years. While some has benefited from payroll outsourcing, there are some who has not.

Most often, it is not the cost that determines success of payroll outsourcing but rather it is the managing of the relationship between the client and the provider. By finding the right vendor that best suit your business needs, it will not only help you to save cost and resources but most importantly is the good working relationship that is going to help your organization in the long run.
